Curriculum Development

Customer Focus Study

BTN Access

Phoenix TS designed a training curriculum and delivery process for BTN Access, a national
provider of Broadsoft-based IP Telephony services to small and medium sized organizations.
Phoenix TS was asked to implement a complete training program including research and analysis of previous training methodology, creation of a new training process, curriculum design, courseware development, and a comprehensive national deployment plan including Train the Trainer classes and class coordination and delivery at customer locations. The material was created in a modular manner so that it is highly customizable for different device types. The
material can be branded to suite any vendor.

Besides our capacity to deliver and coordinate the highest quality training to clients of any size, we specialize in the development and production of customized and comprehensive training programs along with paper or online courseware development and train-the-trainer capabilities. We can provide virtually any content with specific focus on the needs of the client.

We tackle the creation of a customized training program much like engineers tackle an IT project. Several phases and milestones may be defined. Below is a sample process. Each process may be different based on our client’s specific needs:

Sample process:

Phase I – Initial Assessment

A series of meetings are necessary for the Phoenix TS Training Program Development Team to assess the requirements of the client in detail. This will allow the team to draw up an exact schedule and cost estimation.

Phase II – Courseware Development

Based on the decisions and project plan from Phase I, we proceed with the development of a comprehensive curriculum and process for the client’s training program. Some of the training material is already available, perhaps in the form of manuals, but will need to be tweaked. Other material, such as an e-learning flash-based tutorial or an FAQ section on the client website may have to be created entirely from scratch.

Documentation, such as detailed user’s manuals, quick reference cards for every day users, material to use in conjunction with the e-learning courses, additional troubleshooting info for the power users, and a technical manual for administrators may need to be created.

Phase III – Testing and Training the Trainers

Once the first version of the training material has been developed, trainers will be handpicked from Phoenix TS’ extensive database to learn and present the program to customers at the behest of the client.

The Train the Trainer process is also a good forum to test the course and update the material based on student feedback.

Phase IV – Rollout

When the trainers have been satisfactorily prepared, Phoenix TS will take over the day-to-day coordination and management of the training program. We will send the trainers to any Partner or Customer anywhere in the world, as the client requires. A specific set of policies and procedures will be developed to govern the close relationship between the client and Phoenix TS. Phoenix TS will also evaluate every training session and will use the feedback to continually improve on the content and organization of the courseware and measure ROI on the entire endeavor.

Phase V – Ongoing Improvement

A rigorous QA process will be established in order to continually improve the program and incorporate updates. The program will be continually updated based on student evaluations and new versions of the subject technology, provided by the client before release.
