ITIL® Capability - Release, Control & Validation Description
This accredited CSME/APMG training program is for students that are seeking a specialist certification in ITIL's Release, Control & Validation areas of practice. Candidates who qualify for this program will include implementation and operation specialists who are required to hold a 2011 Foundation certificate. Students will, upon successful completion of the reading (Service Operation & Transition Books), training and examination components related to this certification, become proficient and knowledgeable in the following areas.
- Understanding the importance of Service Management as it pertains to Practice & Service Transition Principles as well as Purpose and Objective
- Understanding the overall importance of ITIL Release, Control and Validation while service is being provided
- How all of the processes in ITIL Release, Control and Validation interact with various other Service Lifecycle Processes
- Learn the various processes, activities, methods and functions that are used in all of the ITIL RCV processes
- The ability to use and measure the ITIL RCV processes, activities and functions in order to achieve maximum operational excellence
- Gain knowledge of the overall importance of IT Security as well as its contributions to ITIL Release, Control and Validation
- Understand all of the technological and implementation considerations surrounding ITIL Release, Control and Validation
- Understand how Change Management helps you detect successful service transition
- Service Validation and Testing as it pertains to the ability to assure the integrity as well as the quality of service transition
- Service Asset and Configuration Management as it pertains to the ability to monitor the state of service transition

ITIL® Capability - Release, Control & Validation Exam and Testing
The exam can be taken online using a webcam proctor, at a testing center, or onsite with an accredited proctor. Certification is through CSME or APMG. Student must pass a 90 minute, 8 question closed book multiple choice, scenario-based, gradient scored examination with a passing score of 70% in order to receive this certification. Students must present an ITIL 2011 Foundation or V2 Foundation plus Bridge Certificate prior to sitting for the exam.
