Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA)

Effective October 2010 the Department of Defense’s expanded Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts program (MyCAA); which provides up to $4,000 of financial assistance for military spouses who are pursuing associate degree programs, licenses, certifications or credentials leading to employment in portable career fields.
What MyCAA Pays For
Tuition costs for education and training courses and examinations leading to an Associate’s degree (excluding General Studies and Liberal Arts), license, certificate or certification at an accredited college, university, or technical school in the United States or approved testing organization that expands employment or portable career opportunities for military spouses.
Who is Eligible?
- Spouses of active duty service members in pay grades E1-E5, W1-W2, and O1-O2
- Spouses of activated Guard
- Spouses of Reserve members within those ranks*
* Note: The MyCAA program does not include Coast Guard spouses.
Steps to Take
- Visit https://airportal.acc.af.mil/mycaa/default.aspx and create an account
- Choose a career path. (feel free to consult with Phoenix TS staff)
- Select your school (Phoenix TS) and desire courses.
- Submit On-line Registration Form with your selected courses
- Contact Military One Source at 1-800-342-9647 to speak with a MOS Education Consultant. (This is a mandatory step). You can also visit OneSource to learn more about the program.
- MOS Consultant will send your request for approval.
- You will be notified via email of your approval.
